- About The College
Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, one of the greatest spiritual Luminaries and social reformers of the world, espoused in 19th century to return to society persons imbued with highest Vedic ideals and nationalism. He considered education to be the only means to achieve this goal. It was for this reason only that after the demise this great path maker, a group of his followers decided in 1885 to start an educational institution in his memory. After the establishment of DAV College Trust and Management Society, DAV School, Lahore, the first institution came into existence which soon grew into DAV College, Lahore, under the visionary leadership of Mahatma Hans Raj.
DAV College Kangra was started in 1976 when DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi, came forward to start a degree college at Kangra and a long cherished desire of public was fulfilled.
Ever since its inception this college has redeemed its pledge of providing quality education besides inculcating in the minds of young entrants the values of trustfulness, duty, purpose and righteousness. It has been our aim to prepare young men and women who could distinctively prove to be a meaningful human resource, bubbling with high character and ideals of nationalism and morality.
